Back in town, ready to shape up in December!

I am back in town and teaching ALL CLASSES except the last week of the month between Christmas and New years (which both fall on Saturdays so there is no class on Dec 25th and Jan 1). I will be back for class on January 4th with New Years Resolutions in full swing.
I ordered some new music so we will have all new tunes next week - yay! I will throw some 80's and 90's CDs in for tomorrow so we don't have to listen to all the hits of September and October that I can't stand to listen to anymore.
Hope to see you all at class tomorrow (Saturday) or in the next weeks to shape up before the holidays shape us! New step combos for tomorrow as well.

DECEMBER CHALLENGE - 100 SQUAT Calf Raises (squat and reach one hand or both hands to the floor then come up and reach one hand or both hands to the ceiling - alternating sides or both hands, your call). If you hate counting just do 2 minutes of squats calf raises and reach for the ceiling when you do the calf raise.

Bianca teaches Nov 6, 8, 10 - NOVEMBER CHALLENGE

This is the month that every year I take a 2 week vacation - I am off to Japan & Australia this year. The only remaining classes I teach this month are:
Saturday Nov 6th
Monday Nov 8th
Wednesday Nov 10th
I look forward to seeing you all in class this week!!!!

I will be gone Nov 13th-Nov 28th, returning to class on Monday Nov 29th to get everyone in shape after the thanksgiving weekend!

NOVEMBER CHALLENGE: Get in a full body plank position on your hands (like you are about to do a push up). Lift up right leg and bring your right knee to almost touch your right elbow. Then switch to the other leg. Do 60 of these alternating(total of 30 on each leg) everyday for the month of November! This is an excellent CORE (abs) workout. Make it a routine to do them when you first wake up to get the blood flowinig for the day. They take less than a few minutes to do! or get a friend to do the challenge with you all month to hold each other accountable!

OCTOBER CHALLENGE!

The OCTOBER CHALLENGE is the AIRPLANE - stand on one foot with the other leg extended straight behind you, arms extended out to the side, lean forward until your body include the back leg is parallel to the floor (like an airplane). Hold for 2 minutes on each leg (total for the day). This can be broken into two sets of 1 minute on each leg. Exercise works your Hamstrings, Gluts, Abs, Lower Back and Upper Back (core muscles). This is easy to do while talking on the phone, watching TV, Microwaving food etc etc. Use the timer on your stove or on your phone to keep track.

Form check: Extend the arms and back leg out as straight as possible, pointing your toe and reaching! Make sure BOTH of your hips are even, poor form would be letting the hip of the extended leg raise up (rotate) towards the ceiling. SQUEEZE your shoulder blades together.

31 days in October which means 31 opportunities to get stronger by doing this exercise EVERY DAY! The goal is to hold each side for 2 minutes straight so start training NOW to be strong enough to DO this by the end of the month.

Tell your friends or co-workers about the challenge and enroll them to do it with you. This makes it more fun and holds you more accountable for getting them done everyday!

Bianca will be teaching this SATURDAY! there are a few remaining days for squat kicks...get 'em done!
Come this Wednesday and Saturday (to make up for all the squat kicks you missed this month) for the last classes of squat kicking AND Saturday we will have a new CHALLENGE as well!

Lunge AB Twist CHALLENGE & sub dates

Welcome to the beginning of the July LUNGE CRUNCH CHALLENGE! It will run July 7th - Aug 7th. We will be doing these in all MSC classes for the month, but you also have to commit to doing them on your own. Here is the scoop:
Challenge: to do 100 Lunges with an Ab Twist every day during the month
GOAL: The combination of Lunges (one of THE most effective leg/butt exercises!) with a balanced Ab Twist will help create RESULTS to tighten the most troublesome areas: ABS, thighs and BOOTY! This also keeps you active everyday!

How to do the exercise
1) Standing up, Put your hands behind your head, elbows out (like you would when doing crunches).
2) Go down into a proper lunge – front knee behind the front toe, leading leg parallel to the ground, and back knee almost to the floor.
3) Twist down from the opposite side and crunch with your elbow towards the opposite knee.
4) Stand up to a full standing position, and repeat on the other leg.
5) Each Lunge and Ab Twist combination equals 1 repetition. Each day you will do 50 on each leg., TOTALing 100 per day!

***TIP: You do NOT have to do all of them at once. Split it up - 20 when you wake up, 20 before you go to lunch, 20 after lunch, 20 when you walk in the door from work, 20 at the gym. You cand o them in barefeet at the bathroom at work if you need to. They are harder than they seem once you get over 20! Its the balance part that will really get ya!

****If you plan to attend class that day - we will do them ALL in class so you don't need to do any before hand.****

Bonus: WORKOUT FOR A CAUSE!

Come workout for a GOOD CAUSE. Fitness Formula is helping to raise money for Augie's Quest - a philanthropic effort to raise funds to research for a cure for ALS.
Tuesday June 29th is a ZUMBA class 7:30-8:30pm and as a bonus for coming, I will be teaching a mini sculpting class to follow from 8:30-9pm - the DONATION for the class is $10. Fitness Formula, Augie & myself would all appreciate your attendance! No excuses, doesn't matter if you can dance - do something different and come workout for a cause, if not for a cause come for yourself because you want to be healthy!

Quick update: I have no subs planned for the rest of June or July. My classes are canceled on July 3rd & July 5th. See you this Saturday, Monday or TUESDAY NIGHT!

Oh and if you are wondering what is ALS? ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that usually attacks both upper and lower motor neurons and causes degeneration throughout the brain and spinal cord.

I will be in town for ALL classes for the rest of the month on Saturdays, Mondays & Wednesdays.
We will be going outside to the park on Guerta & Wells on any nice days, one day per week this month (meet upstairs at the club).

Upcoming sub dates - MAY

My only sub date for the rest of the month is on Monday May 10th - ANNE DOMENICO will be subbing at Old Town: Abs, Step & MSC.

ALL of my classes are canceled Memorial Day weekend, there will be no subs...which means no class on Saturday or Monday. I believe Saturday 9am MSC is running, but I am not sure who the instructor is.

I foresee no sub dates for JUNE so everyone should make an extra effort to be unreasonable with yourself (don't listen to your excuses) and make it to the gym to workout with me so we can look good in our our swimsuits this summer!!!!!

Wednesday April 28th, Jernell Geronimo a confirmed to be teaching all classes tonight so it will be kickboxing tonight instead of step.
Again so sorry everyone! I was told jury duty would only go until 430PM which obviously has no been the case. I got out yesterday at 8PM!!! See you on Monday and Wednesday next week!!!!!

Crazy subs tonight and Saturday

Today I have jury duty and am not sure what time I will be done. A girl named Amy is subbing my Abs. I don't have coverage for step or MSC so they MIGHT be canceled! When I get out of here I will call the club and let them know my eta as well as post on here to let you know if I will make it to teach step or hopefully at least MSC! I will keep the person at the front desk as informed as I am so feel free to check with them and not just go by the sign that says that class is canceled!

This weekend for class on Saturday May 1st I have a wedding. I have sub who is Jernell Geronimo but he will be teaching:

Subs today

I have Daniela scheduled to sub my abs and step class. I should have no problem making it back in time for MSC.
I am hoping that traffic isn't terrible and I can make it in time for step or come in a few minutes late to step! I will update this board at 530 when I see how traffic is going as well as call the front desk so you can ask the front desk or check the blog from the ffc computer. Thanks!

Sub tonight - Monday Jan 4

I am so sorry to say that I have been stuck at the airport since 530am because my flight was canceled. I am rescheduled on another flight but don't get in until 11PM. I am so disappointed to have to miss class because I was looking forward to a good work out after the holidays!
Anne Domenico is confirmed to sub my classes tonight.
I will be at class on Wednesday! I swear! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.
